Nature-based Education Programs

One of the things I enjoy as much as learning about the natural world is teaching about it. I've been involved in various conservation efforts in southeast Arizona since 1996 and have conducted nature-based education programs for students ranging from preschool to Elderhostel groups. I've worked extensively with children and have done programs for thousands of students in southeast Arizona and across the border in northern Sonora, Mexico.

I offer a variety of programs ideal for school groups, families, and social clubs interested in sharing the wonder and excitement of learning about nature;

Classroom and field programs, in English and in Spanish, cover subjects including:

Birds ~ Bats ~ Plants

Mammals ~ Aquatic Ecology

Children's programs, whether in the field or the classroom, are hands-on experiences that foster curiosity, problem-solving skills, appreciation and understanding of the natural world, and a love for learning. Children participate in nature oriented activities that vary between quiet and thoughtful to active group exercises. They use creativity, cooperation, multiple senses and their knowledge to problem solve and make thoughtful decisions. Children are particularly fond of my "treasure boxes" filled with wings, feathers, talons, skulls, and other teaching tools.

Adult programs
are basically children's programs for "mature" kids. Lectures, slide presentations, and field experiences are available.
